Issue with 2022 M2 MBA 13.6" Screen going black, (NOT waking from sleep)

It’s not a software or firmware issue it’s a hardware issue, don’t waste your time reinstalling macOS or going to an older or a newer version

It’s usually the lid angle sensor that needs replacing attached to the screen but sometimes the whole screen assembly needs to be replaced, which is fine if you have Apple Care,

Cleaning the keyboard, hitting the ESC key twice, hot corners, connecting to an external display when the lid is closed etc can also cause this

If you don’t have Apple care here is a simple fix below

Go to System settings

Lock screen, Start screen saver when inactive (NEVER)

Turn display off on battery when inactive (NEVER)

Turn display off on power adapter when inactive (NEVER)

We do stock new lid angle sensors and we can recalibrate the new sensor

No point in replacing the whole screen assembly unless the LCD is damaged

or

Wipe the machine and trade it in for a new M3 or M4 Air

This issue does not effect the MacBook Pros

Apple hasn’t officially acknowledged the problem yet so no recalls for a free screen assembly if your without a warranty
